Connecting Through Literacy

The Jane Austen Literacy Foundation connects a world-wide community of people who believe in the power of literacy.

Work with Caroline Jane Knight to design, develop and manage online events and literacy initiatives.

Depending on the role and campaigns worked on, volunteers work 1 – 2 hours per week and attend a fortnightly 30 min virtual meeting (weekly while your campaigns is live). The Foundation is run entirely by volunteers and 100% of donations is spent on literacy programs and activities.

A great opportunity for students with an interest in literature, literacy, marketing, social media and/or design to work with a successful corporate leader and social entrepreneur, and gain some credible experience working on some of our programs:

We are looking for volunteers with one or some of the following skills:

CAMPAIGN/PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

Create and manage community engagement, fundraising or literacy campaign project plans, set up and manage campaign operations and systems. Coordinate with other volunteers to prepare and execute campaigns and review campaign performance for benchmarks and learnings for future campaigns.

LITERACY ACTIVITY DESIGN:

Use your literacy expertise to create content for literacy activities, e.g. 30 Day Literacy Challenge and other resources for schools.

MARKETING/PROMOTION MANAGEMENT

Create and execute promotional campaigns, online and through other channels. Update CRM records from campaigns and simple analysis of campaign performance.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT:

To manage social media platforms ongoing and/or to create and execute specific social media campaigns.

GRAPHIC DESIGN/ARTISTS:

Create branding and visual assets for specific campaigns. Design bookplates.
